Dr. Simons is an intercultural consultant and trainer specializing in communication and negotiation skills. He is the director of George Simons International which functions since 1994 as a worldwide virtual network. He holds a masters degree from Notre Dame University and a doctorate in psychology from Claremont Graduate School.

He is the creator of the DIVERSOPHY® series of intercultural learning tools and has developed online versions of these training games in partnership with m2studio and cell phone delivery of intercultural quizzes with gotestgo.

An accomplished author in the fields of diversity and intercultural management, Dr. Simons has written and collaborated in such books as Putting Diversity to Work, EuroDiversity, Global Competence, Men & Women, Partners at Work, Transcultural Leadership, Questions of Diversity and the Cultural Diversity Fieldbook, Working Together and Sourcebook and Not my Type, a Video Training in Diversity for the UK.



He is a major contributor to the Cultural Detective™ series of training instruments. His articles and book descriptions can be found at www.georgesimons.com.

He has been a member of the Society for Intercultural Education, Training and Research (SIETAR) for over 20 years and has served as a member of its European governing board and is currently a member of the conseil d’administration of SIETAR France. An honorary member of SIETAR Middle East, he is currently organizing the Global SIETAR Conference for 2008 to be held in Granada, Spain.

For 27 years he was a faculty member of Management Centre Europe, where he was part of a team to develop e-learning offerings for management training groups. He serves as an advisor to the European Business Review. He has worked with Dr. Walt Hopkins in delivering the Results Model that is used to work with people on the leadership skills of influencing, negotiating and is one its translators into German.

In addition to services to commercial clients and expatriate training, he is currently conducting online leadership coaching for managers working in the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) and delivering negotiation training for Humanitarian NGOs and the Asian Development Bank.

George was born in the USA and has lived in Germany, The Netherlands, and France and has worked in over 40 countries around the world. He is fluent in English, German, French, Spanish; some Dutch, Russian, Indonesian and Italian.
